Direct selling has become a widespread selling method, and with the benefits of the Internet and social media, we are experiencing a steady increase in its popularity, and it is important for today’s consumers to be able to navigate this fast growing industry.
On October 17, Gintautas Zaleckas, representing the Baltic Direct Selling Associations, participated in the 7th Annual European Direct Selling Conference and in the European Direct Selling Association-Seldia 50th years anniversary celebration in Brussels.
On 12 January, 2017, Latvian Direct Selling Association and the publishing house Dienas Bizness in collaboration with Citadele bank and the Latvian Association of Women Entrepreneurs “Līdere” organized a conference for women entrepreneurs “Women’s Entrepreneurship – Challenges and Opportunities”. Within the conference that brought together more than 200 participants, their stories and professional experience shared successful local and foreign women entrepreneurs. Therefore while the conference have been presented the results of the latest Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report that reveals the main business performance trends of both genders globally.
In 2015 the total retail sales of direct selling industry in Latvia increased by 5.2% till 31.2 million euros (excl. VAT). The number of people involved in direct sales in Latvia increased over 3 percent until over 44 thousand persons.
